‘I am an extremely rare native Irish wildflower, and you will only find me in the modest grasslands and peaty hummocks of the limestone area of the Burren. I am a spectacular flower, with 5 lobes/petals of a vivid unusual blue colour spreading from a white centre. My flower stems from a bright green basal rosette. I am tiny, reaching a height of 7cms, but am worth searching for. My scientific name is Gentiana verna.’
